THIS IS A WOMEN ONLY CLASS
A dive into the essence of our life force energy, the unencumbered inner intelligence, embodied by the mechanism of breath, and driven by our greater awareness. This session is designed specifically for women to explore, without inhibition, what it means to be in this body, a miraculous vehicle of divine power and a vessel for creation. We will look into the unattended wounds that hold us back from reaching our many great potentials, and support each other with full presence, courage and vulnerability. The breath induces cellular memory, and brings unconscious content into conscious awareness. An honest healing journey allows us to honor the past, root in the gifts of the present, and welcome all future possibilities. It invites us to remember who we really are, and to choose and create who we wish to become. The format incorporates various breath patterns together with movement, self-inquiry and observation, and invites a gradual and even unfolding into greater insight and truth, as well as a deeper appreciation for what it means to be woman. Femininity, masculinity, sexuality, sensuality, trauma, ecstasy, pain and pleasure are all on the table as we surrender, allow, trust, and accept all that is.
The evening includes an informative talk, an evocative musical selection, conscious breathing techniques, movement and dance, an acoustic listening portion, journaling and a sharing circle.

Elian received her formal training in sound therapy at The New York Open Center under the guidance of world-renowned sound researcher, practitioner and ethnomusicologist, Alexandre Tannous. An advanced, E-RYT yoga teacher, she completed her trainings and continuing education in New York with a variety of master teachers from different yogic disciplines, including Nevine Michaan of Katonah Yoga, Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee of Yoga Shanti, Leslie Kaminoff, Ramanand Patel, Sam Chase and Kevin Gardiner. Elian is also a trained breathwork facilitator, a modality which she frequently incorporates into her offerings.
Early in her life’s journey, she was trained in classical and contemporary theatre at Circle in the Square Theatre School on Broadway, and has worked extensively on stage, film and television productions, as well as contributed her voice to various projects. She also worked as a professional writer for various online and printed publications around the world.
Together with David Shemesh, she co-founded WOOM CENTER, New York's first of its kind multi-sensory yoga and meditation studio, based primarily on the therapeutic and psychedelic properties of sound vibration, where she both facilitates and hosts practitioners from all over the country and the world. Along with Alexandre Tannous, David and Elian host WOOM Sound School several times each year, a celebrated sound practitioner training program.
WOOM has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Well + Good, and has also been covered by BuzzFeed, NowThis and The Culture Trip.
Elian has had the pleasure of sharing sound, breathwork and yoga with both smaller private groups and on larger scale events such as MediClub, Flavorpill’s Quiet Mornings at The MoMA, and Burning Man. The team has taken their work all over the world and facilitated experiences in Costa Rica, Ibiza, Tel Aviv, Colombia and Hong Kong.
Elian’s greatest joy is to meld all of her passions into one transformative practice that invites a holistic participation of the physical, emotional, intellectual, creative and spiritual bodies.
